Junior Abe Calderon started the day off by placing 30th out of 150 runners in the varsity race in a PR time of 18:14. Abe’s performance was followed by the second medal winning run of the day, turned in by MaryAnn Walsh who ran a season PR of 22:18 placing 31st out of 114. In the Freshman race, Rafael Albarran placed 4th out of almost 200 runners in a new freshman record time of 10:38 for two miles while teammate Joe Jamolowicz placed 22nd in 11:47. Freshman Gwen Kennedy picked up the first medal of her career by placing 34th out of 120 runners in the freshman girls race with a very impressive time of 14:54 for 2 miles. Senior Spencer Kennedy turned in a season PR while Senior Charlie Smith ran his 3rd straight PR of the season. The team is in action this Saturday at the New Balance Shore Coaches Invitational at Holmdel Park.
