Financial Aid Night is coming on Tuesday, 10/20/2020, at 6:30 pm. Please save this link: tinyurl.com/FinAidMHS to join the virtual event and learn about how to apply for and find money for college.

Attendance:
a reminder to all students, any student not attending period one but attending later periods will be considered late to school and absent for period one. If a student misses any period during the day and the school is not contacted by a parent, the student will be considered to be cutting class. Mr. Zalocki will be monitoring attendance throughout the day.

Varsity Jackets:
If any student athlete is interested in purchasing a varsity jacket for the 20-21 SY, please contact East Coast Customs in Sayreville at (732) 390-8238 or Leisure Sporting Goods in Iselin at (732) 283-3113. Athletes are to purchase varsity jackets directly from the vendor as South Amboy School District is not affiliated with these vendors.  

Class of 2022:  The Junior class meeting scheduled for Monday, October 19, is rescheduled to Wednesday, October 21st @ 2:30pm via google classroom. All Juniors are encouraged to attend to hear all about the plans for this school year!  Any questions reach out to your advisors. Winter Sports Registration:
we are now accepting applications for those interested in winter sports. Please go to the Athletic Page, here is a link to it: http://mhs.sapublicschools.com/athletics/athletic_registration to begin the registration process. Deadline is 12/1/2020.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Athletes,

On 10-20-20, there will be a pre-season meeting for those interested in boys high school basketball with Coach Wiater. The meeting will take place on the baseball field behind the MHS from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Any questions, please email Coach Wiater: [email protected]. We hope to see you there.

Some announcements worth reading about:


The first meeting of the Yearbook Club will be TODAY at 2:30pm. (An email was sent to everyone last week) If you are interested in designing, writing and creating the school yearbook, join the Yearbook Club! Email Mr. Heady (Yearbook Advisor) [email protected] to request the Google Classroom and Google Meet invite for the first meeting.  

Attention all musicians! If you are interested in joining the after school chorus or band, please email Ms. Alcuri at [email protected] for information about both groups.

This is a reminder to register for winter sports. Registration will close on 12-01-2020. Please see the "Athletic Registration" tab for application details. Lastly, please see the "NJSIAA COVID-19 Information" tab regarding the latest information pertaining to athletics. Please contact the main office if you have any questions.

Junior Class of 2022 - There will be a Virtual Class Meeting on Monday October 19th at 2:30pm. Check the class web page for the code to join the Class of 2022's Google Classroom.We look forward to seeing you all in the Meet!Your Advisors Mrs. Palmeri and Mrs. Strzykalski  

Remember: attendance counts! So does being on time and being present for the entire period. That is important for all periods.

Dear Students,

Two announcements for today:

1) The 1st meeting of the yearbook club will be Thursday, 10/15/20, at 2:30pm. If you are interested in designing, writing and creating the school yearbook join the Yearbook Club! 2) Lates: a reminder, especially to our 6th grade who might not be aware, being on time to each period is important. Starting with period one, which is also homeroom, if you receive five lates, you will begin serving administrative detention. Below is a list from our student handbook about lates and the consequences:

Tardy to school:                  
5   lates = 1 Administrative Detention    
10 lates = 2 Administrative Detentions                       
15  lates = 1 day suspension, parent conference, and student contract regarding tardiness.  Student will be assigned an administrative detention for each subsequent late.
25  lates = 2 day suspension. Student will also serve detentions for any lates thereafter, 26-34
35  lates = 2 day suspension . Student will also serve detentions for any lates thereafter, 36-44
45  lates = 4 day suspension  Student will also serve detentions for any lates thereafter, 46, etc.

Students, please be on time and present for all of your periods. We, your teachers and parents, need you there learning and participating.
