November is “Kindness” month so we want to create a schoolwide initiative called “Caught Being Kind”. We need to encourage others to be kind towards one another. If a staff member catches you being kind, they will give you a “Caught Being Kind” card. At some point during the school day, you can drop off your card in the Main Office and place it in the appropriate container. There is one container for Middle School students and one container for High School students. At the end of the month, we will pull a name from each container and the winning students will receive a gift card. Let’s make South Amboy Middle High School a kinder place!

There will be a brief meeting after school in room 110 today for anyone interested in running winter track. If you are interested and cannot attend the meeting please see Mr. Mecca.

Attention Seniors there will be a Senior Class meeting immediately after school on Monday November 22nd in room 328.

On Saturday at the NJSIAA State Group cross country meet, Senior Captain Guin Kennedy made history by becoming only the second runner (and first girl) in school history to qualify for the prestigious Meet of Champions. Guin ran the race of her career by placing 6th in all of Group 1 New Jersey with a blazing fast time of 20:47 on the most challenging course in the state. In order for a runner to make the Meet of Champions, they must place in the top 10 at the State meet. Next Saturday Guin will represent South Amboy as she competes against the best runners in the state. In the boys race, Joe Jamolawicz finished his amazing season and a great career by placing 23rd out of 140 runners in all of Group 1 New Jersey in a time of 18:18. Joe finishes his career as the third fastest runner in school history. Congratulations to Guin and Joe on finishing as two of the greatest cross country runners in school history and good luck to Guin at Meet of Champions.

The Class of 2023 will be having a quick meeting from 2:40-3pm this Tuesday in room 114. We hope to see you there.
