Students,

I hope you are all doing well. Remember, if you need help, ask for it. Your teachers, counselors and administrators are here to help whenever needed; just send an email.

Some things I want to bring to your attention:
Attendance: most of you are doing a great job signing in to each period on time and participating for the entire 35 minutes; thank you. Keep it up!. I need everyone doing that. We are taking daily and period attendance. We expect you on time and ready to work. We also expect you to attend every period for the whole period. Our system collects names each period of those logged in and the system lists for each period who was logged in and exactly how long. You need to be logged in all period, every period in order to be marked present.

Lose internet connection: in the rare instance you might lose connection, I expect your teacher to receive an email asap once you have connection again. I also expect the main office to receive a parent phone call.

Cannot attend class: on occasion, some of you might have a doctor's appointment. If that's the case, the school needs a scanned note from the doctor's office sent to the main office so we can adjust your attendance to a documented unexcused absence in keeping with Board Policy.

Student Council Elections: student speeches will be available on Monday after classes are over; a notification will be sent to you. Elections will be held on Wednesday prior to homeroom. You will be notified about casting your vote. Be sure to pay attention to your email.

Student representative to the Board of Education: seniors interested in running for this position can use this link:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1spPwFSY-ne1iqbyJlGGTSysDVFPWrpg0_u-lEHkv8MY/edit?usp=drive_web to apply. All applications are due by Wednesday with elections being held on Friday before homeroom.

The Governor’s Educator of the Year Award is open for nominations. Do you know a South Amboy Public School classroom teacher or educational services professional who is dedicated, inspiring, and making a difference?  If so, please take the time to recommend this person by completing this nomination form and submitting it by the specified deadline.  Students, administrators, staff members, parents and community members are encouraged to participate. The deadline for nominations is October 23, 2020. Here is a link to the nomination form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc_MVSlYe1QQF9ul24R-D-6uWvMud_n4fch6KKtkNImPbXmuQ/viewform
