Dear Parents/Guardians, Important happenings at the MHS: *Monday is our first day back to fully remote/virtual learning.  *Daily Schedule: the schedule will be the same one we have used since we returned to in person. There is a copy of that schedule included with my weekly email. *Expectations for Parents During Virtual Learning: please review the document included with my weekly email outlining the guidelines we ask our parent community to follow while we work in our virtual learning environment. *Expectations for Students During Virtual Learning: a reminder to our students about the expectations for virtual learning was attached to myweekly parent email. *Senior Portraits: most of our seniors have had their portrait photos taken. There are a handful left who need to do so. I have secured 12/21/2020. Information should be forthcoming from LifeTouch for those left to schedule. This is the last opportunity! *Eighth Grade Cap and Gown Photos: I have scheduled two days: December 7th and 11th. Since we will be 100% virtual on those days, we will be working with LifeTouch to schedule the photos. We anticipate having a schedule for students to come to the school for photos at specific times. We will have protocols in place ensuring proper social distancing, temperature taking, Covid Questionnaire completion, and disinfecting the caps and gowns being used in between each photo session. I will forward more information later this week.  *Meals: We will have meal pickups at our school each week as follows:       Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm       Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.       The meals will be available by the auditorium entrance to the Middle/High School *This week: Monday       First day of fully virtual learning       BOE meeting Tuesday       Deadline to register for Winter Athletics *Looking ahead:       8th Grade Cap and Gown photos 12/7 and 12/11       National Career Fair on 12/8/2020       Senior Portraits 12/21/2020 Please reach out to the school if you have any questions. Dear Parents/Guardians, Important happenings at the MHS: Monday is a Purple Day  All three days this week are short sessions with a 12:15 pm dismissal Parent/Teacher Conferences: Each teacher should have sent you an email for the virtual meetings this week. The email was sent to you, using the email address we have in Genesis, as well as your child’s school email address. The teacher included a Google Meet link in the email. You will click on that link at the date and time of the meeting using your child’s email address. Please do not use your own email address. Our system will only work with school email addresses. The link will allow you, in essence, to enter the teacher’s room. The teacher may have a meeting before yours and a meeting after. If you arrive early, the teacher will be notified, kind of like knocking on the door, but he/she will not allow you entrance until the specified time. Once he/she is available, you will be admitted to the meeting. Once your time is complete, each meeting is five minutes, you will leave to allow another parent to have his/her meeting with the teacher. There is a one minute break in between each meeting. Parent/Teacher Meetings, what should I ask?  There are a multitude of questions a parent might ask; here are some simple guiding questions I recommend:           Is my child performing at grade level?           What are my child’s strengths? Weaknesses?           What can my child do to improve academically?           What can I do to help my child improve academically? Conferencing with teachers: please remember meeting with a teacher can happen throughout the year as needed. Covid Questionnaires: these must be completed each day by parents using the Parent Portal. They can be completed very early in the morning; the form becomes available at midnight each day. Please complete before 7:30 am so our nurse has ample time to review them. Not doing so will result in a reminder notification going to your email and presents quite a challenge for our staff as we prepare each day. We will also not allow in-person students access to class until it is completed. Senior Portraits: most of our seniors have had their portrait photos taken. There are a handful left who need to do so. I have secured 12/21/2020. Information should be forthcoming from LifeTouch for those left to schedule. This is the last opportunity! Eighth Grade Cap and Gown Photos: I have scheduled two days: December 7th and 11th. One day is Purple, the other Gold. We will also have time for virtual students to have photos taken.  Cookie Dough!: The class of 2027 is officially hosting their first fundraiser now through November 23rd. Dear Parents/Guardians, Important happenings at the MHS: Monday is a Purple Day Parent/Teacher Conferences: last week I sent a notice about the conference scheduler in Parent Access being open. It will remain open through Wednesday of this week. This is important: each teacher will send you an email for the virtual meeting. The email will be sent to you, using the email address we have in Genesis, as well as your child’s school email address. The teacher will send you a Google Meet link in the email. You will click on that link at the date and time of the meeting using your child’s email address. Please do not use your own email address. Our system will only work with school email addresses. Weaknesses?      What can my child do to improve academically?      What can I do to help my child improve academically? Conferencing with teachers: please remember meeting with a teacher can happen throughout the year as needed. Arrival Plan: the change we made last week for student arrival has worked very well. Our students have been great. They are coming on time, following the guidelines required by the CDC; I couldn’t ask for more. Students Drinking Water: There was some confusion about this; I apologize. This is what we are allowing: students will be allowed to drink water from a clear bottle with their name clearly labeled on it.  They can take a quick sip and then put their mask back on. I will be securing a final day with LifeTouch for their completion and sending out a notification. Eighth Grade Cap and Gown Photos: I am scheduling two days: December 7th and 11th. One day is Purple, the other Gold. We will also have time for virtual students to have photos taken.  Report cards: report cards for marking period one were made available last week in Parent Access. Pie Orders! Our student council is again ordering Thanksgiving Day pies. Last chance to order is this Tuesday. Orders and payment due by 11/17/2020. Dear Parents/Guardians, At this time, you may log on to Parent Access in Genesis and select a conference date and time with any of your child's teachers or guidance counselor. The conferences are on Monday, 11/23/2020, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, 11/24/2020,  from 1:00 pm to 2:35 pm.  Each conference will be five minutes in length. Our teachers will email you a link next week for each conference. You must use this link to log in to the Google Meet at the specific time. This is important: teachers will email you using the email address you provided in Genesis and also email your child using his/her school email.  For example: student John Doe will have a school email address: [email protected]. His teachers would email him at the school address with the link needed and send a copy of this email to his parent's email address. You must use your child's email address in order to access the Google Meet. Our system will not allow outside emails to gain access. We will leave the conference scheduler option open through Wednesday, 11/18/2020. If you need assistance, please contact the school. Thank you, Dr. McCabe

This is different from what is listed on student schedules in Genesis. Please                disregard the entrance on schedules for period 0. Please follow the directions provided in the presentation                      referenced above. Students should arrive at 8:05 am, no earlier. Please complete before 7:30 am so our nurse has ample time to review them. We will also not allow in-person students access to class until it is completed. Masks: all students must wear a mask covering the mouth and nose at all times. I recommend each student bring two extra masks in case one gets dirty, ripped or wet. Devices: any electronic devices being brought to the school should be charged at home.
