Dear Parents/Guardians, Some important happenings at the MHS:  The PTO had a very successful Founder's Day Tricky Tray on Friday. Thank you for your support. The 8th grade class will be having a meeting Tuesday, May 1st, after school in room 328.  The Student Council Annual Charity Walk will be held on May 3 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the track behind the Middle High   School.  We will be raising money for the B.I.C. Program in Sayreville.  Students who turn in $30 and walk will receive 10 hours of community service.  Please see the Student Council web-page for pledge forms.  Thank you for your support. Parent Workshop - Hidden in Plain Sight. On Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 6:30 pm we will have a free substance abuse awareness program for parents at the MHS.  Hidden in Plain Sight is a hands-on interactive learning opportunity presented by Special   Agent, Timothy P. McMahon, Public Information Office, Drug Enforcement Administration, NJ Division, Newark. Using an actual bedroom that you can walk through,Tim will highlight signs and symptoms of alcohol/drug abuse and teach skills for proactive  parenting. This presentation will give you tools to address possible problems. For all parents,  caregivers, adults over 21, community members, educators and adults working with youth. No one under 21 will be permitted to attend. This event is worth attending; the information you will learn could save a child's life. The YMCA will be providing child care in the MHS cafeteria. The National Honor Societies will have their induction ceremony on Monday, May 7, 2018, at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. The Year of the Dog program on Sunday,  April 29, from 1:30-3:30 pm. Program attendees will be entertained by the Lion Dance outside the library prior to the main  event. Art stations will highlight the interesting and delightful arts - such as calligraphy, painting and origami. Musical ensembles, a fashion show, K-pop and traditional dance will round up the afternoon. Attendees with food tickets will be   treated to a taste of China and door prizes will be available at the conclusion of the program. One of the sponsors will be the Oriental House in South Amboy. Dear Parents/Guardians, Two important announcements:    1. You can logon to Parent Access and view your child's marking period three report card      2. Lip Sync 2018 is Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 6:30 pm.  Tickets are $5.00.  All proceeds benefit the Emily Gadomski              Scholarship Fund. Hope to see you there. Thank you, Dr. McCabe

Dear Parents/Guardians, Some important happenings at the MHS: The D.A.R.E Program is coming to our Middle School this year. Detective Holovacko from the South Amboy Police Department will be providing this program to our sixth grade beginning this week.  We are encouraging all students to bring their own headphones for the multimedia and audio components of the State   assessments. The state assessments will begin on 4/17/18. The South Amboy American Legion has asked that our athletes be represented by marching in this year's South Amboy Memorial Day Parade on Saturday, May 19. Coaches have been asked to share this information with their teams. All athletes that are interested should sign up with their coach.  Look for report cards on Parent Portal this week. I will announce when they are available. It is not too late to order a yearbook!  Order one now before the supply runs out. You can get an order form from the main office or contact Mrs. Brown for more information at [email protected] Sixth grade trip permission slips and deposits are due on Tuesday, April 17.  Extra forms can be found on Mrs. Smocovich's  teacher page.  Seniors going to Florida and their parents/guardians: meeting for you on Tuesday, 4/17/18, at 6:30 pm in the media center. Lip Sync is this Thursday, 4/19/16, at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. Founder's Day Tricky Tray is on Friday, 4/27/18. Last day of school: due to the school closings, the end of the school year is being extended. Our tentative last day of school will be 6/25/18. If there is a need for further emergency closures, those days will be added to the end of the year. Graduations: 8th grade graduation is now scheduled for Friday, 6/22/18. 12th grade graduation is scheduled for 6/25/18. Dear Parents/Guardians, Some important happenings at the MHS: Welcome back. Parents: just some reminders about how you can keep up to date with what is happening at the MHS.
