Dear Parents/Guardians, Some important happenings at the MHS: October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Every October, schools and organizations across the country join STOMP Out   Bullying? in observing National Bullying Prevention Month. The goal: encourage communities to work together to stop bullying   and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children of all ages. Join us on   10/1/18 for the 11th Annual World Day of Bullying Prevention? Let's BlueUp together! The first Monday of every October is  World Day of Bullying Prevention?! On this day students, schools, and communities all over the world go BLUE together against   bullying; it also kicks off National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. So students are asked to wear Blue to show their   support! Financial Aid Night was last Wednesday evening. Some very helpful information was presented to parents who are   making plans for their child's college. If you were unable to make the event, please contact guidance with any   questions you might have; we would be happy to assist you. Interims: we are approaching the midpoint of the first marking period. Interims will be posted by 10/9/18. You will need to   log on the Parent Access to view them.  An announcement will be sent out when they are available. The Senior Class Yankee Candle Fundraiser is underway! Deadline for orders is Thursday, Oct. 11th.  The Senior Class Candy Bar sale has started! Candy bars are available in Ms. Sherman's classroom. Senior Class: Disney payments: #4-Oct 3. $200 (September's payment); #5-Oct. 26 $200. Please see Ms. Sherman if you have any questions. PTO Pocketbook Bingo on Friday, 10/5/18, at 6:00 pm in the MHS cafeteria. We have launched an online team store for sports team apparel. Each team store has a unique code. Please take a look at the   different team shops. All purchases can be made online. A portion of each sale goes to the athletic program. The site is only open until October 4.  Dear Parents/Guardians,  Some important happenings at the MHS: Please check Parent Access to monitor your child's school performance. If you do not know how to log on, please contact the school. In two weeks, around October 5, we will be providing interims for marking period one. You will need Parent Access to see them. I will notify you when they are available. Back-to-School Night was last Thursday. We had a great turnout. Our Open Houses went well also. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. As the year progresses, please do not be a stranger. You are an important part of your child's education. Board of Education meeting is Monday, 9/24/18. Financial Aid presentation Wednesday, 9/26/17, at 6:30 pm in our media center.  The middle school is collecting Box Tops for Education.  These can be found on many products-Product lists and Collection   sheets were sent home.  Please submit the box tops with student's name and grade.  We will be using these funds for Grade   Level Trips.  Any questions contact Mrs. Stratton at [email protected] Looking ahead:     PTO Pocketbook Bingo on 10/5/18 at the MHS. Dear Parents/Guardians, Important happenings at the MHS  Parents by now you should be able to log on to Parent Access to monitor your child's school performance. If you do not know how to log on, please contact the school. Student Council speeches will be given on Monday.  Election will take place on Tuesday in homeroom. Students should be on time to vote! Back-to-School Night is Thursday, 9/20/18, from 6-8 pm. Come and visit your child's teachers and classrooms. This is a short session day for students. The evening will begin promptly at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. If you will need a copy of your child's schedule that night, we will have them available by the auditorium entrance. Please come a little early if you will need to get a copy.  Open House for middle school is 9/20/18 from 8:45 am to 9:45 am.  Open House for high school is 9/21/17 from 9:00 to 10:00 am. When visiting our school during open house, please do not bring any food or drinks with you.   The middle school is collecting Box Tops for Education.  These can be found on many products - Product lists and Collection sheets were sent home. Dear Parents/Guardians: Some important happenings at the MHS: Welcome to our first full week of school. Parents can begin monitoring grades on Parent access as of Tuesday. If you do not know how to log on, please contact the  school. Applications for student council officers are available: Middle School from Mrs. Smocovich, High School from Mr. Hughes. They are due by Thursday. PTO meeting Wednesday night. Student photos Wednesday, 9/12/18, for grades 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11. Portraits for Seniors were scheduled with LifeTouch directly. If you have not been contacted, please reach   out to them. Here is a link to their contact information: https://contact.lifetouch.com/  Cap and gown photos for 8th graders   will be on 10/17/18.  Summer assignments: each assignment will count towards two formative assessment grades for the 1st Marking Period. Students   are requested to have the assignments completed and turned in before Friday, September 14, 2018, to receive credit for their   work, with the exception of the High School English students who will be writing a literary analysis in class on Monday   September 10, 2018.
