What’s Happening at the MHS??? (Week of 8/31/2020)

Parents/Guardians,

We begin this week! We are all aware that Thursday is our first day of school for students with a prompt 8:13 am start.

Some things to do this week:

*Monday, if you requested one, please pick up your Chromebook. Note: the district has requested that each family        borrowing a Chromebook provide a check/cash in the amount of $25.00 to insure the Chromebook. If you have            multiple children and your family is borrowing multiple Chromebooks, it is still only $25.00 total for the family.            Families on free/reduced lunch will have the fee waived. We also have a payment plan option for parents.

*Wednesday: please follow the directions I shared in my weekly email to help get your child logged in to all of              his/her Google Classrooms.

*We include directions to allow parents to become guardians in Google Classroom; it is at the end of the document with the directions for Google Classroom. On Thursday our teachers will assist each student to sign his/her parents up for this. Then, you will be sent an email invite to the email address we have registered with Parent Access. If you accept the invite, you will be able to view a summary of your child’s progress (submitted assignments) in Google Classroom. Once you become a guardian for one class you will be a guardian in all of his/her classes.

*Reminder: students in grades 7-12 received email invites to orientations being held on Thursday.

*Ask for help:to some of us in the community, navigating through Google Classroom might be challenging; we are        here to help you. Reach out to a teacher, counselor or administrator if you need assistance; we enjoy helping.

*Parents/Guardians of Athletes: please be familiar with the NJSIAA Fall Covid 19 Guidelines. I shared them in           my weekly email.

*Contacting the school: please use email as your main source of contact when reaching out to the school.

*Check email: please check your email often. Emailing is how we will reach out to you most of the time.

*Check Parent Access: please check your child’s progress in Genesis regularly and email his/her teachers if you           have any questions.

If you need assistance, please reach out so we can assist you.

Thank you,
Dr. McCabe
