Getting Ready for the Prom

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Junior/Senior Prom is less than two weeks away. As our students get ready, I wanted to make certain everyone was familiar with the events that evening.

  • Portraits: Information was handed out regarding prom portraits. If you are interested in having portraits taken, please return  the form, with appropriate fee, to Mrs. Sherman as soon as possible. Those wanting photos will have them taken prior to the  prom while at the MHS. The first scheduled slot of time will be at 6:00 pm. Each subsequent time will be five minutes earlier,  5:55 pm, 5:50 pm, etc. The first three student portraits scheduled will have the 6:00 pm time slot as three portraits can be completed in each five minute time slot.  We are scheduling this way so that those who submit paperwork and fees first will have less down time between the portrait being taken and the time to board the bus. No times will be scheduled until the payment is received. Once payment is received, a time slot will be provided to the student by Mrs. Sherman. So, if your child submits a photo packet and fee, he/she will then be provided a time slot. Students having portraits taken should report at the time they were provided to the auditorium entrance.
  • We ask students to arrive at 6:00 pm and gather by the auditorium entrance to the school.
  • The first bus will begin boarding by 6:15 pm.
  • We will be returning from the venue to the auditorium entrance of the school at approximately 11:30 pm.
  • On the day of the prom, some students may want to leave early. Please know this time is not excused. Students must be present until 12:13 pm on 5/24/18 in order to be able to attend the prom.
  • Those leaving early who are 18 years of age will sign themselves out in the main office.
  • Those 17 and under will report to the media center and wait for a parent/guardian to arrive there for sign out.
  • If someone other than a parent/guardian will be signing out your child, the main office must have written notice from you of such by homeroom on 5/24/18.

In order to ensure student safety, a uniformed police officer will be providing security at the venue.

We anticipate another successful prom.

If you have any questions, please contact the school.

Thank you,
Dr. McCabe
MHS Principal
