  • The South Amboy track program had one of its biggest performances last night at the freshman county championships taking home two titles. Gwen Kennedy started the night off with a big PR performance in the 1600 meters of 6:00 placing 5th in the county. Rafael Albarran dominated the 1600 meters from start to finish taking home only the third county freshman title in school history with a very fast time of 4:46. Gwen Kennedy made history by becoming the first girl in school history to bring home a county title when she won the 3200 meters in a PR time of 13:02. Joe Jamalowicz completed the night by placing 7th in the 3200 meters in 11:32; just one second off his PR. Congratulations to the freshman and to our country champions Rafael and Gwen.
