Transitioning from 3ft to 6ft Distancing Inbox
Dear Parents/Guardians:

According to the NJDOH guidelines for K12 Schools published on March 23rd, the NJDOH recommended reducing social distancing requirements from 6ft to 3ft in schools depending on where a region fell on the Covid-19 Activity Level Index (CALI).  At the time, only elementary schools were recommended to make this change, since our region was still categorized at level 3 (High).  The guidance recommended keeping the 6ft social distancing requirement for middle and high schools.
As of Monday of this week, the CALI for our region has been reduced from 3 (High) to 2 (Moderate).  Middle and High Schools can now reduce the social distancing in classrooms.  Nevertheless, the district will wait another week before we implement this change.  We want to ensure the CALI remains at a level 2 for at least two weeks before we make any changes.

In the meantime, we will take requests from parents of children who are attending on only Purple or Gold Days, or are 100% virtual and would like their child to attend in person instruction five days per week as of 5/17/2021. If your child is already attending 5 days per week for in person instruction, you do not need to complete the request form.

Requests will be taken on a first come, first served basis. We will review each request and check the increased room capacities. We anticipate many of our students being able to return. This is great!  We are another step closer to normal.

Please complete our brief request form if you would like the school to review your child's schedule for a possible five days a week in person instruction schedule as of 5/17/2021.

Here is the link to the request form: https://forms.gle/t1nsmkSF4vfVgUH66

Request forms should be completed by no later than 5/9/2021.

The school will notify parents as to whether their child may attend five days per week by Friday, 5/14/2021.

If you need assistance, please contact the school.

Thank you,
Dr. McCabe
