A select number of High School athletes will participate in the first annual GMC Sportsmanship Summit on 10/12 at the Woodbridge Community Center. Athletes will turnkey the information discussed with their respective teams.
Below are a few highlights:
B/G Varsity Cross Country
The High school runners set personal records 2 meets in a row, while also being excellent leaders to 5 new team members! The Varsity Cross country team will compete in the GMC Divisional Championship on 10/11.
Boys Varsity Soccer
The Boys Varsity Soccer Team lost to Woodbridge Academy 3 to 2 and a very good game and lost to Piscataway four zero. They have managed injuries and continued to play hard. The boys will look to bounce back as their players return from injury.
Girls Varsity Soccer
The SA Varsity Girls Soccer Team defeated Mother Seton 5-0 in a strong showing on 9/15. They suffered losses to Highland Park and Timothy Christian but have shown improvement during each contest.
Girls Varsity Tennis
The Varsity Girls Tennis team posted wins over Perth Amboy and Carteret. Their record stands at 2-4 as they continue to improve both individually and collectively each week.
MS Girls Soccer
The middle school team has started the season standing strong. The girls tied 2-2 in their first game against South Brunswick. Their work at practice has not gone unnoticed. Captains Jaela Russell and Brooke Sofilkanich are doing a tremendous job assisting the team and sharing their positive energy.
MS Boys Soccer
The middle school boys soccer team had a great start to the season! The boys won their first game 1-0 with a goal from Gabriel Kisiel. Ralph Lengyel saved two penalty shots. We are getting better at practice everyday! Let’s go Guvs!
