1. Lincoln and Douglas Debates PDF document (Paper Copy Given out in class)-In class, we will read (as a first read), highlight text to help with your homework assignment (Posted in Google Classroom), and discuss the primary source. 
Please use an online dictionary for any words that you do not understand. Students on their own will create a campaign slogan for Stephen Douglas and Abraham Lincoln supporting their view on slavery. Use the highlighted information from Monday's class, the Google Slide Notes, and textbook Chapter 14 Section 3 (pages 496-497) to help create your slogans. One campaign slavery campaign slogan for Lincoln and Douglas are due on Friday March 3rdPlease follow the Google Classroom assignment instructions

2. Footbinding Assignment-The class will read and discuss the NPR story/article Painful Memories for China's Foot Binding Survivors. Students will highlight/take notes about the practice of Foot Binding related to women's social standing in ancient and current China. Students will watch and discuss a CNN Foot Binding video clip.

Homework: Write a written reflection in a Google Document attached to this assignment answering the following questions. Minimum of 10 sentences. Explain your answers. Please do not copy and paste any answers from the internet. I have the Originality Report on for this assignment. You are allowed to quote or cite examples from the NPR article. Remember the format from the Indian Ruler Project. 

1. Did the practice of foot binding connect with women having a lower status than men in China? How? Remember to use evidence from the NPR article and the video clips we have watched.
2. What do you think of the practice of foot binding?

Mummification 3-2-1 Formative Google Question-Students will complete a 3-2-1 formative activity after watching the video clip. Students will need to write down three new facts, two interesting facts, and one question they still have on mummification. This will be started in class on Tuesday November 22nd. If the students do not complete this assignment in class, they will complete it for homework.

Please highlight the Mary Hill Primary Account textual evidence (Annotations) that helps you answer the two part journal activity. This assignment will be due at the start of class on Friday November 18th
2. Removing the Five Civilized Tribes Packet-Student had time in class on Thursday November 3rd and Monday November 14th when I was absent to complete this assignment. Students

Students will highlight/take notes about the practice of Foot Binding related to women's social standing in ancient and current China. Students will discuss two Foot Binding video clips.

Homework: Write a written reflection in a Google Document attached to this assignment answering the following questions. Minimum of 10 sentences. Explain your answers. Please do not copy and paste any answers from the internet. I have the Originality Report on for this assignment. You are allowed to quote or cite examples from the NPR article. Remember the format from the Indian Ruler Project. 

Did the practice of foot binding connect with women having a lower status than men in China? How? Remember to use evidence from the NPR article and the video clips we have watched. What do you think of the practice of foot binding?

Monday through Thursday: War of 1812 Bumper sticker Battle Summative Project-Project will be due on Friday October 1st. Please see the Battle Group Google Doc, project Google Doc sheet, and War of 1812 Bumper sticker Daily Goals Google Slides for project information in Google Classroom. War of 1812 Project sheet has to be posted to the Digital Documents section of my page under the 7th Grade Folder. Students will have class time and can complete for homework too. Extra help available during After School Monday through Thursday till 3 PM. Please set up a time prior with Mr. Wohlt.

Monday and Tuesday: Shawnee Chief Tecumseh Address to General William Henry Harrison reflection sheet-Students had the entire period in class on Monday to complete this assignment with the substitute. In addition, students extra time to complete for homework. Students needed to underline/highlight text to support their answers. Answers should have been in multiple sentences.
Wednesday: Read 
over the following War of 1812 Battles in Chapter 9 Section 4. This chapter section can be found in the Classwork tab at the bottom in U.S. History Textbook. This will be in preparation to for choosing War of 1812 Bumper Sticker Battle Group Summative Project groups and topics.

7th Grade Homework for the Week of 09/13

Monday and Tuesday: Connections With Economics-Mandan Traders reflection sheet (paper copy)-Please highlight text and pictures to help answer your questions. Please answer questions in full and complete sentences. Answers should be either written on the back of the sheet or a separate sheet of paper. This assignment is due and will be checked in class on Thursday September 16th. 
Wednesday and Thursday: National Geographic: Lewis & Clark Great Journey West reflection sheet (Google Document)-Class will watch the video in class. As students watch the video clip, they will complete the Google Document in Google Classroom. Students will hand in the reflection Google Document in Google Classroom by this Friday September 17th.

8th Grade Homework for the Week of 09/13
Monday through Friday: Snapshot Five Themes of Geography Summative project-Project will be introduced, explained, and due date (09/24/21) given on Monday. This project can be done alone or with a virtual partner of their choice. Both partners and their parents must fill out a Partner Wavier sheet posted in Google Classroom, which is due to Mr. Wohlt by Thursday September 16th.

Tuesday: Students and parents will complete the 7th Grade Parent and Student Letter Google Form following the instructions in the Google Classroom assignment.
Wednesday: Chapter 10 Vocab Builder reflection sheet (paper copy)-Please use the Glossary PDF and Chapter 9 PDFS in Google Classroom to complete this assignment. 
Thursday:"Catch up Day"-Make sure that you have completed and submitted all assigned by Friday September 10th.
