Weekly Assignments:

Lab. Chemistry & Lab. Physics: 

MP1 Week 1: Tell me what you think is Chemistry and what you intend to learn in this class.

Week 2: Partner or Solo on your Science Invention Project (see rubric for details).

Week 3: Write and answer at least 20 subject related questions on Scientific Method. 

Week 4: Research the Textbook Chapters & list topics/concepts of interest using the course guide.

Week 5: Study for the upcoming summative assessment-a paper based Test on concepts learned so far.

Week 6: Chemistry-Complete the work packet on Periodic Table of Elements to learn and reinforce understanding on the layout, blocks, family names and states of matter of the elements.

Physics-Complete and reinforce derivation and problem solving on speed, velocity practice problems using step by step analysis.

Week 7: Honors Chemistry- will write the electron configurations of the common elements reinforcing their understanding for this week.

 Regular Chemistry- will practice the correct symbols and spelling the  chemical/Latin/commercial names of 1 to 50 elements on the Periodic Table.

Physics-will study and apply concepts of acceleration& deceleration to real life occurrences and write in detail on it.

Week 8: Chemistry- Complete a detailed journal entry on the topics learned this past two weeks applying and gaining thorough content knowledge in the process studying for an upcoming assessment.

Physics-Complete a detail open-ended response on Newton's Laws of motion, friction and Forces, showing all the steps introduced in class on 'explain/writing in detail in science'.

Week 9: Physics & Chemistry- will show in depth understanding on safe lab behavior, symbols, instruments, lab-measurements, observation table, 4-step indirect calculations via a detailed lab-report explained and conducted in class.

Week 10: Physics & Chemistry- will show complete understanding on do's and dot's of graphing by complete a graph using data measurements given via a worksheet.

In addition, Physics will reinforce comprehension on concepts of momentum, impulse introduced this week by explaining/writing/solving in detail using steps taught  so far.

MP2 Week 1: Chemistry- will show total understanding on performing a hands-on lab finding density of unknown liquid via a detailed lab-report and a graph.

Physics- will show total comprehension of solving real life scenario mathematical problems on momentum, impulse, collision and law of conservation of momentum via a practice worksheet.

Week 2: Chemistry- will show closure on previous concepts and get back to periodic table of elements by writing on common elements.

Honors Chemistry- will get back to Abbreviated electron configurations via practice problems/worksheet.

Physics- will show closure on momentum and gather information on 'Energy' using textbook and discussions.

Week 3: Chemistry- will learn and reinforce understanding on 'Properties' of common elements used in real life.

Honors Chemistry- will learn and reinforce understanding on 'Orbital spin diagrams' by completing practice problems/ worksheet.

Physics- will discuss and explain Energy-kinetic and gravitational potential energy with real life illustrations and examples introduced this week.

Week 4: Chemistry-will learn and reinforce the Uses of common elements and apply to real life situations.

Honors Chemistry- will complete understanding and application on Lewis-Dot diagrams via practice problems/worksheet.

Physics- will complete understanding on kinetic and gravitational potential energy by completing mathematical problems of real life scenario.

Week 5: Chemistry-will learn and reinforce the Properties & Uses of common elements by writing a detailed Journal Entry with real life applications and illustrations.

Honors Chemistry- will complete understanding and application on Configurations & Diagrams by writing a detailed Journal Entry with real life applications and illustrations.

Physics- will complete understanding on Energy-both kinetic and gravitational potential energy by writing a detailed Journal Entry with real life applications and illustrations.
